When JC and Esther Tetreault tied the knot in 2009, they celebrated with homemade ales. And as the buzz for the brews spread among friends and family, it was clear that what started as a hobby was destined to grow. In 2013, the couple opened Trillium Brewing Company in Fort Point—and since then, drinkers have fallen harder for the suds with every sip; at one point, BeerAdvocate users rated Trillium as boasting 25 of the top 50 beers brewed in Massachusetts.
The original Fort Point brewery only had enough space for an on-site retail shop. But as more of Massachusetts, New England, and beyond became hooked on its hop-forward brews, the company opened a Canton taproom, a seasonal beer garden on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, a glass-walled outpost right outside of Time Out Market in Fenway, and a giant three-floor brewery and restaurant in Fort Point. So now you can eat modern New England fare on a roof terrace while sipping our personal fave: the Double Dry Hopped Fort Point Pale Ale. Featuring Citra hops, it has a flavor profile laced with aromas of herbs and tropical fruit.
