Kitchen

Homey breakfast classics in Federal Hill.

By Jenna Pelletier

Breakfast spots don’t get much more adorable than this one, outfitted with just five wooden booths, a chalkboard menu, and a one-man-sized open kitchen in the back. Owner Howard Crofts does all of the cooking, methodically and peacefully cracking eggs and frying bacon while those waiting for a table look longingly at the dishes coming out of the kitchen. You won’t find anything fancy or trendy at Kitchen; expect straightforward breakfast classics, including omelets, muffins, and pancakes, made exceptionally well.

Croissant French Toast

Oh yes, the French pastry was made for this. Pair it with a side of super-thick-cut bacon.
